Brothers and Sisters,
It looks like we can look forward to having a budget early next year.
I don’t think we are out of the woods just yet.
The framework is built and the lobbying begins in earnest now for how those extra bucks get allocated.
We still need to contact our Congressional Representatives and Senators and urge them to ensure furloughs are not part of the solution. The FAA budget has grown even during sequestration, (Think Nextgen), and with additional funding coming from fees on flight segments, there should be no reason that our work should be negatively impacted.
Customers will be paying more to fly, so they deserve the best safety our agency can deliver.
Deferred maintenance, furloughed workers, and risk management do not equal the safest aviation system in the world.
Let Congress know how you feel and pressure them to make sure the agency does not use us as their piggybank. Ask them to fully fund the FAA and ensure furloughs are not part of the equation.
Looking forward to a joyous Holiday Season with friends and family.
Best wishes for a bright and hopeful New Year!
Everyone be safe and see you soon.
