The PASS Convention 2015 was held in Baltimore, Maryland at the Hilton Baltimore Convention Center.
The purpose was to meet and discuss governance of our Union, training, and fellowship.
We heard from speakers including Congresswoman Donna Edwards (D) MD-4, Ed Wytkind, Transportation Trades Department of the AFL-CIO (http://ttd.org/about-ttd/leadership/) Union Veterans Council Executive Director
Will Fischer(This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) ,TSAP( Tech Ops Safety Action Program) team, CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) team, and our National Officers and committee reports.
Some of the main topics were the fight against Privitization and and the staffing problems, made evident by the ERAM failure at ZDC.
Delegates and members at large had to wade through over 40 proposed amendments and resolutions.
Three of the proposed amendments were adopted by 2/3 votes of the delegates, as proposed or amended. seven were tabled, and the remainder failed to be adopted. Those amendments that were adopted will have the language vetted and sent out to the membership to vote on whether we should adopt and include them in our constitution. Please keep an eye on your mail and return your vote in a timely manner.
Three Resolutions were adopted and I will post them on the website.
Resolution 1 dealt with National officer compensation
Resolution 2 Voluntary Safety Reporting Program ( ie, TSAP, ASAP, etc.)
Resolution 3 dealt with Modernization training
National officer elections are currently ongoing. If you have received your ballot please vote and return your ballot before the end of the month. If you did not receive a ballot please contact the National office immediately (202)293-7277.
There will be a re-vote of Region 1 delegates as some nominated delegates were mistakenly left off the ballot.
